Last month I had my 51st birthday and still feeling somewhat super human and a physical spectacle at my age. I have worked hard to stay at the top of my game never saying surrender. As a competitor at all I do and always trying to over achieve, and setting the bar higher each time, reaching the next ring of the ladder. I now am being humbled by my prodigy, I adopted this wonderful 22 year old young adult and felt I might help influence her life in the utmost positive fashion. I have enjoyed the last year immensely and now I only can compliment this absolutely amazing young adult as a fellow "Super Human".
Today as I was panting for mercy and looking up finding a client arriving 10 minutes early, gasping for air, as I know, I push my clients to this point often, I found my self screaming the name Delfina in rescue of the perils of which I have created. Looking out the corner of my eye, I see my prodigy happily gliding into the finish of our hour long cardio interval session with style, as I normally would at a pace I thought I could only achieve........
Now some past history to use as excuse. This past Thursday I came down with an upper respiratory infection and had a bug bite under my right arm on my torso that became inflamed and infected. In my defense and looking for excuses after being humbled (okay humiliated) at the expense of a young adult... Okay much worse for older generations..... By an absolute beauty of a young lady has caused me to write this for all to learn from..... Sexual Equality... "Oh Mother Mercy" in other words I could see the faces of two women in my life who mean so much to this "wretched old bald sad sack of a man" who proudly calls himself "Physical Ed" as well as "Zimbawa" Grandpa On Steroids. Now has to look to my greater mentors who have made me a better man and continue to do so, My Mother and My Amazing, Darling, Wonderful Wife who have always demonstrated that women can and will always prevail over the testosterone male.... (thanks, be me ever so humble).
